Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and seek out new potential commercial mortgage opportunities.
- Bring in new business to the credit union that will grow the commercial mortgage loan portfolio.
- Develop and cultivate strong business relationships with business leaders of the community.
- Conduct a preliminary review of all potential commercial loan deals prior to submitting them to the credit union for consideration.
- Ensure that potential commercial loan deals meet conformity with the credit union's commercial lending guidelines.
- Create engaging business proposals that offer commercial lending solutions that will translate into real value for potential clients.
Key Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of commercial loan underwriting and sound credit practices.
- Skillful ability to develop new business and spot good business opportunities on behalf of the credit union.
- Have well-developed sales, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
- Proficient knowledge of MS Word and Excel and other MS applications.
- Ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in:
- commercial lending and sales sector;
- commercial loan underwriting;
- business development.
